I guess it is time to start a blog and record my journey for friends and family. Today is the last day of pack up from our home in Cypress. I still have 31 days until I get to see Brian again. He has been gone since the 5th of July. He is still in the temporary apartment waiting on his air freight to get there and delivered. The one thing we have learned thus far is that in India they move at thier own pace. This will be a major adjustment but we will manage. he is anxious to get settled into the apartment and get things ready for me to come. I am hoping that he will have cable and internet ready for me when I get there :). Our stuff should arrive in India on the 20th of Sept. How long it will take before we get it in our place is a whole different story. I hope it will only be about a week. I still have so much to do here in the states to get ready for this journey. I am trying to take one thing at a time. That is going to be my new motto. Lets see if I can handle that one!! haha I can not tell you how surreal it is too see everything you own wrapped up in paper, plastic and boxes. Wow we have accumulated so much stuff. This doesn't even count all we got rid of LOL. This whole thing began in May when I got the phone call from my husband while I was at work. He said "how do you feel about India?" This was quite the shock as this was one place I had said I really didn't want to move. I am not a fan of Indian food. Since this took place I have done so much research. Wow it is not the third world country one might think. There are many western restaurants there and hey there is even a Chilli's right down the street from our new place. There is so much to see and do. I think Iwill deffinatly be able to keep me and my camera busy. What am I going to do all day you ask...well I plan on taking those photography classes I always talked about and doing some volunteer work with some charities and orphanages. That is what I hear alot of Expats wives do in Mumbai. I guess I will join the ranks! I think that will keep me pretty busy. :) I am hoping to take Keeta (my pup) over in Dec. There is alot to do to make that happen. My wonderful daughter will be attending college at Texas Tech and will start her adult life. I worry about her and I hate leaving her but she is so very excited for the adventures she will get to have on her time off. She also has lots of family in the town she will be living GO RED RAIDERS!! She is such an amazing and strong woman I know she will be fine when we leave, it is me I worry about. With today's technology we will get to talk and video often! Well this is the start of my blog. Whew it was a long entry, don't get too used to that!! I will try to keep this updated often. I can not wait to get settled in to Powai, Mumbai, India and see what wonderful things await us.
